The movement from gathering insights from KPI’s to designing more relevant training sessions is one of the most crucial aspects of high quality analysis. In building an IDP, setting targets, measuring them, but then not having the results of this process change our behaviour as coaches or analysts, we’re severely limiting the impact we can have on a player.

If we genuinely believe by sticking to our IDP and working on specific areas of focus, then we must also therefore want to train our players on these areas at the right times. We’ve seen this short clip from Lucy Rushton earlier in the course, but it’s worth re-watching as she summarizes this perfectly. Alex Ackerley also discussed how insights from key measurements impact session design for individuals at Sunderland.
