Position Summary

West Ham United FC is seeking a highly motivated and detail-driven Recruitment Support Analyst to join the First Team Recruitment Department. This role is key in supporting the Club’s scouting operations through technical, analytical, and administrative support — including exposure to AI and machine learning tools in football recruitment.

Key Responsibilities

Video Analysis & Editing

  • Support scouts and analysts by cutting/tagging key match footage for player assessments.
  • Use video platforms (e.g., Hudl, Wyscout) to organise playlists aligned with recruitment objectives.
  • Prepare video content for recruitment meetings and presentations.

Data & Insights

  • Analyse player performance data and compile scouting insights.
  • Maintain scouting databases and player profiles.
  • Produce summary reports and dashboards to support recruitment.

AI & Machine Learning Integration

  • Interpret outputs from AI tools to enhance scouting accuracy.
  • Assist in tuning LLMs using internal datasets (e.g., match reports).
  • Contribute to the development of automated workflows and reports.

Operational & Administrative Support

  • Coordinate scouting schedules, logistics, and travel.
  • Provide administrative assistance for recruitment events and documentation.
  • Track deadlines for reports, tasks, and recruitment deliverables.

Presentation & Material Preparation

  • Create visually engaging presentations for recruitment discussions.
  • Organise and prepare scouting materials (video, statistical reports, player summaries).

Cross-Departmental Collaboration

  • Liaise with scouts, analysts, and recruitment staff across departments.
  • Support communication between First Team and Academy recruitment teams.
  • Provide administrative support in meetings.

Person Specification

Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience in an analytical, operational, or admin role (Desirable)
  • Understanding of football recruitment/player evaluation (Desirable)
  • Experience using Hudl, Wyscout, etc. (Training available if needed)
  • Exposure to or interest in AI/ML tools in football (Desirable)

Skills & Abilities

  • High attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Video editing and tagging skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Strong written/verbal communication
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise, and meet deadlines
  • Interest in LLMs, AI tools, or automated reporting systems

Working Hours

  • 40 hours/week
