Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and tactical-minded Set Piece Analyst to join our First Team Analysis department. The successful candidate will provide high-level insights and support to enhance the team’s performance from set-piece situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse and identify trends in opposition and Derby County set-piece strategies.
- Deliver pre- and post-match set-piece reports.
- Collaborate with coaches to develop strategic plans and video sessions.
- Contribute to the creation of set-piece playbooks and internal video libraries.
- Monitor global trends and innovations in set-piece tactics.
- Attend first team fixtures and deliver live video and tactical feedback.
- Support wider analysis and data projects as required.
Candidate Profile
Essential Experience:
- 3+ years in a professional first team football environment.
- Proficient in video analysis tools (e.g., Sportscode, Angles, Wyscout).
- Strong tactical understanding of the game, especially set-pieces.
- Skilled in telestration and Mac-based presentation software.
Desirable:
- Previous set-piece analyst experience.
- Knowledge of R, Python, Power BI, Tableau.
- Degree in Performance Analysis or related field.
- Coaching qualifications.
